5/8erl in Ehr'n are a rare species. It's no coincidence that they work everywhere – in mainstream radio just as much as in alternative stations, in theaters and at public pools. They radically search for what connects us – with a sound that lies somewhere between Aretha Franklin, Buena Vista Social Club, and Helmut Qualtinger. Their style? Viennese soul. Their themes? The poison of our time and what is the balm for the soul. With their seventh album "Burn On!" 5/8erl in Ehr'n are both patients and remedies at the same time. In nine songs, they dedicate themselves to the exhausted society and juxtapose it with the interpersonal. What really does us good? A simple sentence like "Let’s talk briefly, just give us some time" can feel radical. A line like "did nothing together, neither cried nor laughed" feels disturbingly familiar.
